Gold prices increase by Rs. 15,000 in Sri Lanka
The cost of gold in Sri Lanka has gone up due to rising global gold prices. Colombo Pettah traders report that the price for a 24-carat gold sovereign has jumped by Rs. 15,000 today. As a result, a 24-carat gold sovereign now costs Rs. 420,000, while a 22-carat gold sovereign is priced starting at Rs. 386,400 in Colombo. Additionally, the global gold price per ounce exceeded USD 5,500 earlier today.
