Seven dead, 82 missing in Indonesian landslide, disaster agency says
A landslide in West Java province, Indonesia, has resulted in the deaths of seven individuals, with 82 more reported missing, according to the country's disaster mitigation agency on Saturday. The landslide occurred in a village located in the West Bandung area. Abdul Muhari, a spokesperson for the agency, informed Reuters, "The number of missing persons is high, and we will work to enhance our search and rescue operations today." Prior to the landslide, Indonesia's weather agency had issued warnings about severe weather, predicting heavy rains in West Java for a week starting from Friday, as noted by local media outlet Kompas.com.
