First Technology Service and Support Centre opens at Vavuniya University
The Ministry of Science and Technology opened its first Technology Service and Support Centre today (23) at the University of Vavuniya. Professor Krishantha Abeysena, the Minister of Science and Technology, and Sunil Handunneththi, the Minister of Industry and Entrepreneurship Development, officially launched the centre. This facility is designed to help with entrepreneurship, innovation, research commercialization, and the growth of startups in the Northern Province. In the first phase, there are plans to set up 24 similar Technology Service and Support Centres across Sri Lanka, beginning with state universities and eventually reaching districts throughout the country.
