Matale Police have arrested several people and seized 10 high-powered motorcycles that were used for illegal street racing on Sangamitta Mawatha in Matale. Authorities reported that one of the confiscated motorcycles had fake number plates. The Matale Police noted that the riders were aged between 18 and 23. In another case, police arrested a person driving a bus from Colombo to Matale without a valid driving license and while under the influence of drugs. These operations were conducted by the Traffic Division of the Matale Police Station. The suspects will be brought before the Matale Magistrate’s Court.
