PM Harini holds discussions with ADB President in Davos
Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya met with Masato Kanda, the President and Chairperson of the Asian Development Bank (ADB), in Davos, Switzerland. This meeting happened during the 2026 World Economic Forum (WEF) at the WEF Congress Centre in Davos-Klosters. They talked about Sri Lanka's ongoing reforms and the country's economic situation, among other topics. Additionally, the Prime Minister met with Jozef Síkela, the European Commissioner for International Partnerships, in Davos the day before. They discussed ways to enhance cooperation between Sri Lanka and the EU in areas like economic recovery, education reform, digital transformation, climate resilience, and sustainable development, according to the Prime Minister's Office. Dr. Harini Amarasuriya traveled to Switzerland on Monday (19) to take part in the 56th Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF). This year's forum in Davos is themed “A Spirit of Dialogue” and includes over 3,000 global leaders, such as heads of state, government officials, CEOs of major companies, policymakers, and technology innovators. During her visit, the Prime Minister plans to have several important meetings with international leaders, heads of global organizations, and other notable figures.
