A 79-year-old woman was fatally attacked yesterday (1) by her husband, an 84-year-old man, in the Delpawatta area of Agalawatta, according to police reports. The incident occurred after a heated argument, during which the man used a wooden door pole to strike his wife. After the post-mortem examination, her body was returned to her family. The police have arrested the husband and are continuing their investigation into the matter.
