Religions must come under one ministry - Amaraweera
Many problems have arisen since the country has several ministries for religions. All these religions should come under one ministry, Hambantota District Parliamentarian Mahinda Amaraweera said at a press conference held at his residence in Agunakolapelessa recently. He said that this situation has resulted in many problems. He said schools should not be named on races and religions.
The MP said that the ban on wearing Burqa should be hailed. Even Muslim leaders and politicians approved it, the MP said. Amaraweera said terrorists made the Easter Sunday attacks to shatter the harmony among communities. The attacks clearly indicate that elements with vested interests attempt to create disharmony among the people.
