During his trip, Herath engaged in talks with Belarusian leaders, senior officials, business representatives, and tourism industry members, leading to several agreements aimed at increasing trade and economic collaboration. One major announcement was the plan to launch direct air services between Sri Lanka and Belarus by the year's end. The discussions also considered partnerships in tourism, education, gemstones, agricultural tools, fertilizers, and other areas of shared interest. After the meeting, Herath told reporters that the new direct flights would boost tourism, assist Sri Lankan students studying in Belarus, and create more opportunities in important sectors like gemstones, mechanical engineering, and agriculture. He emphasized that these agreements would further enhance trade, tourism, and educational connections between the two countries.
