More than 1,400 people have been killed in Lebanon since March 2
More than 1,400 individuals have died in Lebanon due to Israeli airstrikes, as reported by the Lebanese health ministry recently. Among those fatalities, at least 126 are children. The strikes began on March 2, targeting what Israel claims are Hezbollah positions. The reported casualties also include 54 health workers and 93 women. Thousands have lost their lives since the current conflict in the Middle East erupted, according to a CNN report that compiled death tolls from regional officials. The fighting initially started with US and Israeli strikes on Iran and has expanded to include groups supported by Iran, such as Hezbollah, which operates in southern Lebanon. The death toll in the region since the war began on February 28 is as follows: In Iran, the Iranian Red Crescent announced that over 2,000 people have died since the US-Israeli strikes started, with Iran’s health ministry reporting that at least 216 of those are children, including 17 who are under five years old. In Lebanon, the health ministry confirmed that at least 1,422 people have been killed due to Israeli strikes since March 2, with 126 children among the victims. In Iraq, authorities report at least 107 deaths in total since the conflict began, with 13 fatalities in the semi-autonomous Kurdistan Region. In Israel, 19 civilians have died since the conflict's start, excluding indirect casualties. Additionally, 10 Israeli soldiers have been killed in southern Lebanon, according to the Israeli military. The US Central Command has stated that 13 American service members have also lost their lives since the war with Iran began.
