Sri Lanka will experience afternoon thundershowers in many regions over the next few days starting today, April 2. Rain or thundershowers are expected in several areas, including the Western, Central, Sabaragamuwa, Southern, Uva, North-western, and North-central provinces after 2:00 p.m. Some places in the Western, Central, and Sabaragamuwa provinces, as well as Kurunegala district, may see heavy rainfall exceeding 50 mm. Additionally, morning showers could occur in the Southern province and in the districts of Ampara, Batticaloa, and Monaragala. Early morning mist is also anticipated in certain areas of the Central, Sabaragamuwa, and Uva provinces. The public is advised to take necessary precautions to reduce risks from temporary strong winds and lightning during these thundershowers.
