Nuwan Thushara files case seeking NOC to play in 2026 IPL and other leagues

Fast bowler Nuwan Thushara has approached the Colombo District Court with a petition asking for a ruling that would require Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) to give him a “no objection certificate.” This certificate is necessary for him to compete in international league events, including the 2026 Indian Premier League. The petition was submitted through his lawyer, G.G. Arulpragasam, and was discussed in court today, April 2. The court has set the next hearing for April 9 and has instructed that notices be sent to the involved parties. Those named in the petition include SLC Chairman Shammi Silva, Secretary Bandula Dissanayake, Treasurer Sujeewa Godaliyadda, and Chief Executive Officer Ashley de Silva.
