The National Water Supply and Drainage Board (NWSDB) has announced that residents in Battaramulla, Pamankada, Wellawatte, Nawala, and nearby areas will experience three-hour water cuts every other day starting today, April 2, and continuing until April 10. These cuts will take place from 10:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. Additionally, the areas of Padukka, Homagama, Pelanwatta, and Pannipitiya will face a 24-hour water cut once every four days, beginning at 8:00 p.m. today. This means that water will not be available for a full day, but will then be supplied without interruption for the next three days. The NWSDB explained that these measures are necessary to manage water distribution effectively and minimize disruptions for the public. This decision comes as a response to the ongoing dry weather conditions, allowing consumers to meet their daily water needs without facing daily cuts for extended periods.
