Three Buddhist nuns critically injured in road accident in Sooriyawewa
Three Buddhist nuns were critically hurt in a road accident in Sooriyawewa, specifically in the Nugekanda area. They were passengers in a three-wheeler that collided with two lorries. After the crash, the nuns were taken to Hambantota General Hospital for treatment, according to police reports. The accident happened when the three-wheeler, coming from a side road, tried to enter the main road and hit a lorry traveling on it. This caused the three-wheeler to crash into another small lorry parked on the side. Police noted that the accident resulted from the three-wheeler driver's reckless driving.
