Six killed in separate road accidents across the island
Six people have lost their lives in various road accidents across Sri Lanka, according to police reports. These tragic events took place yesterday (26) in several areas including Peradeniya, Malabe, Nikaweratiya, Kalutara North, Kopay, and Alawwa. In Peradeniya, a 46-year-old man was killed after being hit by a vehicle. In Malabe, a 25-year-old motorcyclist died in a crash between his motorcycle and another vehicle. In Nikaweratiya, a 33-year-old woman lost her life in a separate accident involving a motorcycle and a car, while others were hurt and taken to the hospital. In Kalutara North, a 59-year-old man died when a three-wheeler collided with a cyclist. Additionally, in Kopay, a 56-year-old man was killed after a three-wheeler hit him as he was walking. Lastly, in Alawwa, a pedestrian died after being struck by a lorry, and police have not yet confirmed the victim's identity.
