Student killed, another injured in accident at international school in Kandy

A seven-year-old student has tragically lost his life after being hit by a vehicle owned by a board member of an international school in Mahaiyawa, Kandy, according to police reports. The incident took place today (12) around 11:30 a.m. It is reported that the director had parked the car and exited when the vehicle unexpectedly rolled forward due to a brake failure. At that moment, two students who were getting water on the school grounds were struck. One child died from the accident, while the other was injured and is now receiving care at the Kandy National Hospital.
