Over 3,600 road accidents reported in Sri Lanka within first two months of 2026 - Police
Sri Lanka Police have reported that over 3,600 road accidents took place in the first two months of 2026. The Police Media Division revealed that from January 1 to March 2, there were a total of 3,642 accidents. Among these, 405 were fatal, leading to 422 deaths. The Police also mentioned that there were 866 serious accidents, 1,730 accidents with minor injuries, and 641 accidents that caused property damage.
