First flight to Dubai departs from BIA after Middle East airspace reopens
A flight to Dubai has taken off from Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) today, marking the first departure since the Middle East airspace reopened. The FitsAir flight 8D 821 left at 1:20 p.m., carrying 47 passengers along with 10 crew members. Currently, flights are running during a limited time when airspace in the Middle East is available. Officials mentioned that airlines are using this time to provide services to the region. Sources at the airport indicate that more flights to other destinations in the Middle East may start again soon.
