The Department of Meteorology has announced that showers or thundershowers are expected in parts of the Southern province, as well as in the Rathnapura, Monaragala, and Kaluthara districts after 2:00 p.m. today, the 24th. Most other areas in Sri Lanka will experience mainly fair weather. Additionally, misty conditions are anticipated in some areas of the Central, Sabaragamuwa, Western, Northwestern, and North-central provinces, along with Galle and Matara districts during the early morning hours. The public is advised to take necessary precautions to reduce the risk of damage from temporary strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
