The Committee on High Posts in Parliament has given its approval for the appointments of two Heads of Mission and a Ministry Secretary. This decision was made during a meeting chaired by Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya. The Committee has nominated Nirmala Indumathie Dias Paranavitana to serve as the Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia and as the Permanent Representative of Sri Lanka to the African Union. Furthermore, Professor Mohamed Ibrahim Fazeeha Azmi has been nominated as the new Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the Islamic Republic of Iran. The Committee also approved K.A. Vimalenthirarajah as the Secretary to the Ministry of Trade, Commerce, Food Security and Cooperative Development, as reported by the Department of Communication of Parliament.
