Australia knocked out of T20 World Cup following Zimbabwe-Ireland washout in Pallekele

Australia's journey in the T20 World Cup 2026 came to an end when the match between Ireland and Zimbabwe was canceled due to rain on Tuesday in Pallekele. Australia, having lost two out of three group-stage matches, can no longer catch second-placed Zimbabwe in Group B. Just the day before, Australia faced a heavy eight-wicket loss to Sri Lanka and had also been defeated by Zimbabwe last week.
