Three students injured after boundary wall collapse at Borella school
Three students, all 16 years old, were injured when a boundary wall at C.W.W. Kannangara College in Borella fell down earlier today, October 12, according to police reports. The wall collapsed after a backhoe, operated by workers from the Colombo Municipal Council (CMC) who were doing renovation work, hit it. Debris from the wall trapped the three students who were nearby at that moment. Emergency responders quickly rescued the injured students and took them to Colombo National Hospital for medical care. Police mentioned that one student is in critical condition and is being treated in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). The 48-year-old operator of the backhoe has been arrested in relation to the incident, and the Borella Police are continuing their investigation.
