Russia launched a significant attack on Ukraine using drones and ballistic missiles late Thursday night. The strikes focused on energy infrastructure, resulting in at least seven injuries in Kyiv, as well as the cities of Dnipro and Odesa, according to officials. Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha stated on X that "hundreds of drones and ballistic missiles targeted energy systems, leaving people without power, heating, and water." In Kyiv, Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported that two individuals were injured during a large-scale attack, which also impacted many buildings. Klitschko mentioned on Telegram that both residential and commercial structures on either side of the Dnipro River were hit. Debris fell near two homes in one area, but fortunately, there was no fire outbreak. Witnesses from Reuters reported hearing explosions throughout the city. In Dnipro and its surrounding area, four people, including a baby boy and a four-year-old girl, were injured in the missile and drone strikes, as regional governor Oleksandr Ganzha shared on Telegram. Additionally, a drone attack on Odesa, located on the Black Sea, injured one person and damaged an infrastructure site as well as an apartment building, where a fire broke out on an upper floor, according to Serhiy Lysak, head of the city’s military administration. Lysak also noted that flames spread to pavilions at a local market and caused damage to a supermarket building.
