Plane carrying 55 passengers crashes into Indian Ocean just moments after take-off
A plane with 55 people on board crashed into the Indian Ocean shortly after taking off from Aden Adde International Airport. A bystander captured video of the shocking event involving the StarSky airline near Mogadishu in Somalia. Passengers were seen jumping from the plane as it hit the water close to the Somali coast. One wing of the StarSky aircraft broke off and was seen floating beside it. Rescuers arrived quickly and were later seen helping the passengers. Witnesses reported that the flight took off just before the crash and struggled to climb due to technical problems. Locals walking on Jasiira beach noticed the plane flying unusually low. Airport officials stated that the StarSky plane tried to return to Mogadishu but veered off the runway while attempting to land.
