Sri Lanka, EU to hold Joint Commission meeting on Thursday
Sri Lanka and the European Union (EU) are set to hold the 27th Session of their Joint Commission in Colombo on Thursday, the 12th. This important meeting will gather senior officials from both parties to assess and enhance their partnership in various fields, such as governance, human rights, trade, development cooperation, and other key bilateral and regional issues, according to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Aruni Ranaraja, Secretary to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment, and Tourism, will co-chair the Joint Commission alongside Paola Pampaloni, the Acting Managing Director for Asia and the Pacific at the European External Action Service (EEAS). The EU delegation visiting Sri Lanka will also engage with senior Sri Lankan officials to explore collaborative efforts and specific steps to further strengthen their ongoing partnership, the Ministry noted.
