Two nabbed for selling narcotic pills under the guise of a pharmacy
Polgahawela Police have taken two people into custody for allegedly running a secret network to sell narcotic pills while pretending to operate a pharmacy. Officers seized 2,000 narcotic pills from the suspects during a raid. This operation was carried out following tips received by the Police Special Task Force (STF). Using undercover officers, the police found the drugs at the home of the main suspect. The narcotics were cleverly hidden inside a washing machine in the bathroom, and there were 20 parcels of narcotic pills discovered on the property. The suspects, aged 37 and 24, live in the Kaditaramulla and Panaliya areas. Investigations have shown that they had been selling these drugs to schoolchildren and local youth for a long time, according to the police. Initial inquiries suggest that they sold one pack containing 10 cards, with each card having 10 narcotic pills, for Rs. 10,000. Police estimate the street value of the seized drugs to be around Rs. 200,000. Additionally, authorities noted that both suspects have serious drug addictions.
