Four including woman killed in separate road accidents
Four individuals, including one woman, lost their lives in separate road accidents across various locations, according to police reports. The deadly incidents took place in Akmeemana, Serunuwara, Kilinochchi, and Wariyapola. One accident involved a car that flipped over after crashing into the safety barrier on the Southern Expressway near the 86.6 kilometer mark. The driver and two women passengers were injured and taken to Karapitiya Teaching Hospital. Unfortunately, one of the women, a 52-year-old from Wattala, later died from her injuries, police confirmed. In another case, a 31-year-old man riding a motorcycle died in Nilapola, Serunuwara, when a taxi hit him. Additionally, a 49-year-old three-wheeler driver was killed on the Kilinochchi–Mullaitivu road after he lost control of his vehicle, causing it to collide with a lorry, police reported. Lastly, a 22-year-old motorcyclist died in Wariyapola after a head-on crash with a lorry, according to police.
