Level 3 landslide warnings issued to residents of seven DS areas in Kandy and Nuwara Eliya

Level 3 'Red' landslide warnings have been issued for people living in seven Divisional Secretariat areas in the Kandy and Nuwara Eliya districts of Sri Lanka. The National Building Research Organisation (NBRO) announced that these warnings will stay in place until 2:30 a.m. tomorrow, September 19. This evacuation alert is due to the bad weather conditions currently affecting the region. The warnings apply to residents of the Doluwa, Udadumbara, and Medadumbara Divisional Secretariat Divisions in Kandy, as well as the Mathurata, Nildandahinna, Hanguranketha, and Walapane DSDs in Nuwara Eliya.
