The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Employment, Arun Hemachandra, has stated that no Sri Lankans were hurt in the shooting that took place during a Jewish celebration at Bondi Beach in Sydney on Sunday. In response to a question from Ada Derana, he mentioned that officials are investigating the incident further and collecting additional details. The tragic shooting resulted in 16 deaths and left at least 40 people injured at the Hanukkah festival, which is held at Sydney's most famous beach. Two gunmen specifically targeted attendees of this event. Australian police reported that one of the suspected gunmen died at the scene, while the other is in critical condition at a hospital. Reports indicate that the alleged attackers are a father-son duo. According to police, around 1,000 individuals were present at the Hanukkah celebration, which took place in a small park near the beach.
