A Sri Lankan online retailer is selling firewood online and reportedly had sold more than 1000 bundles of firewood, as the country was facing an acute scarcity of domestic gas. “We never imagined we would be selling firewood online. But it is selling pretty fast,” the founder and the Chairman of the Kapruka.com Dulith Herath said in his Facebook account. According to the website, a bundle of 5 kg of cinnamon firewood is being sold at Rs. 140, while a stove made of clay and bundle of 5 kg firewood were sold at Rs. 390 as bundled offer. Kapruka in its website said the firewood stock will be delivered islandwide within 24 hours. Lengthy queues were a common sight at gas outlets these days due to the shortage of LP gas.
