Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Esmail Baghaei, reacted to threats from US President Donald Trump. He stated that Iran would respond "in kind" if the US attacked its infrastructure, according to Al Jazeera. Baghaei emphasized, "Our armed forces have made it clear that if Iran’s infrastructure is attacked, we will retaliate similarly." He added that any similar infrastructure linked to the United States or aiding its aggression against Iran would be targeted. This warning follows Trump's threats of military action against Iran unless an agreement is reached to end the conflict and secure the strategic Strait of Hormuz. In an interview with Axios, Trump remarked, "There is a good chance, but if they don’t make a deal, I am blowing up everything over there," while suggesting that talks were still ongoing and a deal might be possible before the deadline. Earlier that day, before the interview, Trump had issued a stern warning on Truth Social, threatening to strike Iran's vital infrastructure if his demands were not met. In his post, he used strong language to remind Tehran about his deadline to either "make a deal" or "open the Strait," indicating that Tuesday would be the day when the US would address all of Iran’s energy and civil infrastructure. On Thursday, Trump noted that Iran's largest bridge had been targeted and urged Tehran to reach an agreement before it became "too late." He stated, "The biggest bridge in Iran comes tumbling down, never to be used again -- Much more to follow! IT IS TIME FOR IRAN TO MAKE A DEAL BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE, AND THERE IS NOTHING LEFT OF WHAT STILL COULD BECOME A GREAT COUNTRY!"
