20 illegally assembled vehicles linked to organized crime seized
Police have arrested three individuals and seized 20 vehicles, which include luxury cars that were illegally assembled. These vehicles were reportedly used in organized crime, with some police officers and military personnel involved in the illegal assembly process. The suspects come from Kadawatha, Gampaha, and Ja-Ela. Following leads from the suspects, the vehicles were found in Kadawatha, Meegahawatta, and Monaragala. Authorities have also discovered information about nearly 40 more illegally assembled vehicles. The collection taken by the police includes luxury cars, jeeps, vans, lorries, and motorcycles. The Western North Crime Division has urged the public to contact them at 0112 947780 if they have had a vehicle stolen or gone missing. The three suspects are set to appear in court soon.
