A 49-year-old pharmacy owner from Wattala has been arrested in connection with a case in Batticaloa, where a woman's body was found in an empty well. Another woman who had been abducted was rescued alive from the same site. The Eastern Province Crimes Division made the arrest for charges related to helping with the murder. The suspect was taken into custody in Wattala and has been transferred to the Kokkadichcholai Police Station. He appeared in front of the Batticaloa Magistrate’s Court on October 30 and has been remanded for three days. The Kokkadichcholai Police are continuing their investigation into the matter.
