The Consumer Affairs Authority (CAA) has uncovered a large-scale operation selling fake Ayurvedic medicines under the name of the Sri Lanka Ayurvedic Drugs Corporation. This raid took place on March 26 after the Ayurvedic Drugs Corporation filed a complaint. Investigators found that the operation was extensive and fraudulent. The CAA focused on a business located in the Mawanella–Hingula area, where officials seized counterfeit medicines that were being marketed as real products from the corporation. Further inquiries revealed that the suspects misused the corporation's name and state emblem to sell these fake items. The CAA announced that they are pursuing legal action against the involved parties regarding this case.
