Kapila Chandrasena, the former CEO of SriLankan Airlines, was taken into custody today, October 12, by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC). His arrest is linked to the ongoing investigation into a disputed deal involving Airbus. This morning, Chandrasena went to the Bribery Commission to give a statement. After providing a lengthy account, he was arrested. He faces allegations of accepting a bribe amounting to USD 2 million in connection with the Airbus aircraft deal.
