Podi Lassie to be brought to Sri Lanka tomorrow from India?
Janith Madushanka, known as “Podi Lassie,” is a Sri Lankan criminal figure and suspected drug lord who is wanted by the police for several murders. He is set to arrive in Sri Lanka tomorrow morning, January 27, after being arrested in India more than a year ago. Podi Lassie, who is involved in large-scale drug trafficking and organized crime, reportedly avoided capture after being released on bail by the court in 2024. He allegedly escaped in a vehicle driven by a lawyer right after his bail was granted. The police reported that he was arrested by Indian authorities in Mumbai in January 2025. Two officials from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) traveled to India yesterday, and Podi Lassie is expected to be brought back to Sri Lanka tomorrow morning.
