A 19-year-old girl, who is the daughter of a hotel owner in Pilagoda, Unawatuna, has been arrested for stealing Rs. 620,000 from a Russian tourist at the hotel. The Unawatuna Tourist Police responded quickly after receiving the complaint and caught the suspect just a few hours later. Authorities used footage from a hidden camera in the tourist's room, which showed the girl entering the room several times. Officials mentioned that this hotel has experienced several thefts before. The suspect will appear in front of the Galle Magistrate’s Court tomorrow (24) for further legal action. The Unawatuna Tourist Police are continuing their investigation.
