The Sri Lanka Navy has arrested 10 people for illegally harvesting sea cucumbers in Iranativu, Kilinochchi. During a search in the waters near Iranativu, the Navy found 1,232 illegally collected sea cucumbers, three dinghies, and diving gear. This operation was carried out by the North Central Naval Command. The arrested individuals are from Pallimunai, Mannar, and their ages range from 29 to 54. The Navy reported that the suspects, along with the sea cucumbers, dinghies, and diving equipment, have been handed over to the Fisheries Inspector in Kilinochchi.
