A bus accident took place today (20) on the Hatton–Colombo main road in the Thanakolawatta area of Yatiyanthota. The bus was carrying Indian tourists who were traveling from Nuwara Eliya to Colombo. During the incident, a 40-year-old woman and her two children, who were waiting by the side of the road, were seriously injured and taken to the hospital. Unfortunately, the mother later died from her injuries. Additionally, two Indian tourists on the bus were also injured and received hospital treatment. The Yatiyanthota Police are looking into the matter further.
