Three including woman arrested at BIA with over 16 kg of Kush
Three people, including a woman, were arrested at Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) by the Airport Police Narcotics Division in Wellampitiya for having more than 16 kilograms of 'Kush' drugs. The amount of 'Kush' seized is valued at over Rs. 160 million. The suspects, who live in Colombo and Wellampitiya, are two men aged 33 and 28, and a 35-year-old woman. Police reported that one of the men runs a spa business. They allegedly bought the drugs in Bangkok, Thailand, and flew through Dubai, landing at Katunayake Airport yesterday (15) at 7:00 p.m. on Emirates flight EK-654. During a search, officials found 16 kilograms and 400 grams of 'Kush' hidden in one of the bags, packed in 60 separate parcels. The three suspects are set to appear in Negombo Magistrate’s Court today (16).
