The Department of Meteorology has forecasted that light showers or thundershowers may occur in a few areas of Galle, Matara, Kaluthara, and Rathnapura districts after 2:00 p.m. today, September 9. Elsewhere in Sri Lanka, mainly fair weather is expected. In the early morning hours, misty conditions are likely in parts of Sabaragamuwa, Central, and North-central provinces, as well as in Badulla and Kurunegala districts. The public is advised to take necessary precautions to reduce the risk of damage from sudden strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
