In 2026, Sri Lanka has welcomed 223,645 tourists, according to the latest figures from the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA). Among these visitors, 41,603 are from India, making up 19.0% of the total. Additionally, the country has seen arrivals from the United Kingdom, with 23,329 tourists, followed by 22,876 from Russia, 14,431 from Germany, and 10,746 from France. In comparison, Sri Lanka received 252,761 tourists in January 2025. Last year, a record number of 2,362,521 foreign visitors traveled to Sri Lanka, as reported by the SLTDA.
