Today, Ratnapura saw the highest temperature in Sri Lanka, reaching 33.1 °C, according to the Department of Meteorology. This measurement was taken at the Ratnapura Meteorological Station. In contrast, Nuwara Eliya recorded the lowest temperature on the island, which was 19.8 °C at the Nuwara Eliya Meteorological Station.
