Gold prices in Sri Lanka increase by another Rs. 2,000
Gold prices in Sri Lanka have gone up again, increasing by Rs. 2,000. This rise is linked to the sharp increase in global gold prices. Today, on the 24th, the international price for gold has hit a record high of over US$ 4,500 per ounce. In the Colombo Pettah gold market, a 22-carat gold sovereign is now priced at Rs. 327,500, reflecting the latest changes. Additionally, the cost of a pound of 24-carat gold has climbed from Rs. 352,000 yesterday to Rs. 354,000 today, as reported by traders in the market.
