A 35-year-old woman died and six others, including three children, have been injured in a road accident on the Southern Expressway early this morning. Police said the crash occurred between the Galanigama and Kahathuduwa interchanges when a van travelling from Galle to Colombo collided with a lorry ahead of it. The injured adults — the van driver, another man and two women — were rushed to the Homagama Hospital. Three children injured in the incident were admitted to the Colombo South Teaching Hospital. One of the women admitted to the Homagama Hospital succumbed to her injuries. Moragahahena Police are conducting further investigations into the accident.
