Berty,
Cricinfo is never in sync with the actual match. Most probably the man who asked the question was watching the match real-time while asking the question in Cricinfo which was 15 overs behind.
PS: if there is actual match fixing happening then lesser mortals like you, myself and this Aman would never know until a few years later.

| Shamalp...he predicted the correct score when SL was batting and it was 34.3 overs..RR at that time was 4.91...well if Pakistan was playing this would have been an immediate hit for Spot Fixing |

| SL meeting Aus in the final is a nightmare scenario for organizers and cricket itself ( business perspective ). Yes, hidden elements surely made sure India cruises in this match, at least, create the favorable environment for them. |

The chances of Aus beating SL in the next game are 80/20 in favor, in contrast to what folks think Aus would prefer SL in the final rather than India.

This is a coincident, no fixing here. Over the years what I have seen is that Indians have developed some sort of fear/mentality that they cannot lost to SL and at any cost they should win. Otherwise they will be humiliated losing to the small island nation. So whenever they play against SL, they wear that hyper-performance face to win SL matches. Right after SL lost the toss that I knew, India is going to do whatever it takes.
It was a small ground with Indian type pitch. I feel that SL lost strategically not sending Tissara, Maharoof, and Mathews right after Mahela to send the ball out of first 30 meters during power plays. In that way they could have use complete potential of their batsmen and score some 350+.
Actually, SL scored mere 60+ runs during first 15 overs. If SL thinks that they should not lost wickets of expertise batsmen like Dilshan, Mahela, they should let someone like Maharoof to open to take the advantage of power play overs. At the end of the day runs matter, not how many overs you play. |
