Parliamentarian Prabha Ganeshan, who crossed over to the Government on Thursday said that over 20 UNP
parliamentarians were ready to join the Government due to the instability and internal crisis for power in the Opposition.
Ganeshan of the Democratic People`s Front (DPF) told the Sunday Observer that as a Tamil political party, an ally of the UNP it has realised that there was no future for the Tamils as the UNP has overlooked the aspirations of the Tamils.
He said several UNP parliamentarians were keen to join the Government and they were negotiating with the Government.
But I don`t think the Government needs the support of the UNPers as the Government is now on a strong footing , he said.
He said that the UNP would get the support of the minorities during elections but the UNP ignores their grievances when the party achieved its target.
