I never tied anyone to a tree, said Mervyn Silva, Deputy Minister of Highways at the parliament today. The Mnister added that he only untied a person who was tied to a tree. Showing a letter to the parliament, he also claimed that the said person has sent him a letter stating that he voluntarily tied himself to a tree.

Mervyn Silva further added that the letter stated that the purpose of this action was to set an example for everyone.

Deputy Highways Minister Mervyn Silva yesterday tied a Kelaniya Divisional Secretariat official to a mango tree for failing to take proper measures to combat dengue in the area.

	How can he lie like this when there is enough proof in the video clips and also witnesses too ? He even threatened a lady when she objected to his actions. People will now pay the price for voting him into Parliament.

	A'Lion............... In the video it was not MS who tied that guy to a tree. It was a guy wearing a grey colour bush shirt. Now MS speaks logic........MS physically did not do it. he is not a lair. He will be one if states he did not order someone to do it. MS may have untied the guy.
