Additionally, on the same day, the High Commissioner of Pakistan to Sri Lanka, Major General (Retd) Nayyar Naseer, met with Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya at Temple Trees. The Prime Minister welcomed him warmly and thanked the Government of Pakistan for its ongoing support, especially the aid provided after the Ditwah Cyclone. Both sides reaffirmed their long-standing and friendly relations, based on mutual respect and shared interests. They also discussed the importance of strengthening collaboration in key areas such as education, tourism, and sports to enhance people-to-people connections and create new opportunities for cooperation. The meeting was attended by Deputy High Commissioner of Pakistan to Sri Lanka, Ms. Zunaira Latif, Secretary to the Prime Minister, Pradeep Saputhanthri, Additional Secretary Ms. Sagarika Bogahawatta, and officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment, and Tourism.
