The National Water Supply and Drainage Board (NWSDB) has declared that the water supply in Homagama will be stopped today from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., for a total of 12 hours. This interruption is due to the ongoing dry weather. Initially, the plan was to have a 24-hour cut, but the NWSDB later changed it to 18 hours and then to the current 12 hours. Additionally, the National Water Supply Board mentioned that they are starting a special plan to deliver water using bowsers if there are more supply issues in the Colombo district. Steps have already been taken to send bowsers from other areas to Colombo, according to Eng. Chandana Bandara, the Chairman of the NWSDB. He also noted that about 20,000 water connections are affected by these disruptions.
