In 2026, Sri Lanka has welcomed over 600,000 tourists, according to the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA). The SLTDA's latest figures show that from January 1 to March 8, 2026, a total of 604,301 visitors came to Sri Lanka. In the first eight days of March alone, 47,646 tourists entered the country, as reported by the SLTDA. The data reveals that 11,345 tourists came from India, making up 24.0% of the total. Additionally, in February, Sri Lanka saw 4,388 visitors from Russia, 4,136 from the United Kingdom, 4,032 from China, and 3,634 from Germany. In comparison, March 2025 had 229,298 tourists visiting Sri Lanka.
